Final reaction: Okay… you were flat a few times and generally “pushed” too much. The song isn’t intended to be nearly as showtune-y. It’s a song of despair and disconnection – you’ve got too much heart in it. But that’s just who you are. As for the delivery, you stressed your voice too much with the pushing. Also, ad libbing (musically) on a well-known song is as gauche for this as it is for the national anthem. Just stick with the main score for your first covers. Keep trying, though!
